About Us

Christina was born in the small town of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, which happens to be the home of the famous reining horse, Joe Cody.  Christina had a love for horses at a young age.  When she was 5 years old her mother enrolled her in riding lessons in Allentown.  Christina knew then she always wanted horses in her life.

Her family moved to Texas by the way of Oklahoma when she was 9 years old.  With the help of her parents and her grandfather, who had shown gaited  horses in the 1930's, she was able to purchase her own horse and began taking lessons in her backyard.   She was introduced to playdays and 4-H shows shortly after buying her horse.  As she grew in knowledge, she branched out into dressage, jumping and reining.  She was elected President of her 4-H Club when she was a high school senior along with holding the office of Parliamentarian for the Dallas County 4-H.

She began her college career at Tarleton State University.  She met  Dr. Jackson, who was eventually elected  President of APHA, along with other influential people in the equine industry, such as Jack Brainard and James Davidson.  She also assisted in 4-H clinics for the local club and attended 4-H leadership clinics in Abilene.  During her time at Tarleton she worked for Centerfold Farms/Pernokas Saddlery and Renee Lewis riding hunter-jumpers and roping horses.

She took a break from school to pursue a job offer in Italy training reining horses for Torello Quarter Horses.  She traveled to different horse shows around the country coaching amateurs and eating lots of Italian food!!!  She then returned to the U.S. and met her husband Brad.  They both finished their college career at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.  While attending Sul Ross, Christina was a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Team.  She earned the title of Highpoint Stock Seat Rider at the Texas A&M hosted show in 1994.  In 1996 she graduated with a B.S. in Equine Science and moved to Fort Worth to work for APHA.

While working for APHA, she won  the overall Highpoint Award at the FlowerMound Equestrian Center show series in 1997 and was asked to join their staff as a riding instructor.   She gave lessons in FlowerMound  part-time along with working full-time for APHA.  She and her husband moved to the Terrell area in the winter of 1998 and Christina began B bar C Paints on a part-time basis.  Then in 2001 her dream came true, B bar C became a full-time business.   Since then, Christina has met so many wonderful people and has made many great friends along the way.  Her students have enjoyed several successes, including multiple Top Ten finishes at the APHA World Show and at the 4-H State horse show along with All-Around Titles at Horse-O-Rama and other open show series in the DFW area.

Christina invites you to be a part of a fun and enthusiastic team at B bar C Paints!  Contact Christina for your equine needs    at bbarcpaints@sbcglobal.net
